Race personnel of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race will be able to travel safely to checkpoints thanks to the support of Whitehorse Motors and Ford Canada.
Returning as a Major Sponsor for the eighth year, Whitehorse Motors is the Official Transportation Partner – Yukon, providing the Yukon Quest with vehicles for on-trail race personnel including vets, officials, logistics, public relations, and staff. The winterized Ford vehicles range from SUVs to heavy-duty F-350 trucks.
In addition to providing vehicles, Whitehorse Motors supports the race through fundraising initiatives throughout the year. The partnership for the Ford Drive-One 4 UR Community event in the last two years has successfully brought in nearly $5,000 with the intention to continue the efforts into next year.
“Having Whitehorse Motors on board assures us the vehicles transporting key personnel to the checkpoints safely are equipped for Yukon and Alaskan highways,” says Natalie Haltrich, Yukon Quest Executive Director – Yukon. “Community support is something we are aligned in, so partnering together has been an excellent way to continue this mutual goal.”
“Whitehorse Motors and Ford Canada remain dedicated to helping our communities, customers and employees Go Further, so, we are of course thrilled to provide transportation support with Ford vehicles for the 35th running of the Yukon Quest,” says Tina Woodland, General Manager and Partner, Whitehorse Motors. “This iconic race brings entire communities together on both sides of the border, and exemplifies the true spirit of the North. We are proud to join other sponsors in support of this incredible race.”
