The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race will once again show its Wild side at the annual Meet the Mushers event.
Yukon Wild returns as the sponsor of Meet the Mushers on the Yukon side, which will be held during start week, on February 4th. Yukon Wild is a group of licensed, professional Yukon adventure travel companies offering premier guided, customized, and independent wilderness trips in Yukon, Alaska and surrounding northern Canada.
“Meet the Mushers is always a big hit with fans of the Yukon Quest, and the perfect way to start off the 2015 edition of the race,” said Laurie Parris, Yukon Quest Executive Director – Yukon. “We would not be able to pull off such a successful event without the support of Yukon Wild. They realize the importance of promoting this beautiful territory to people around the world, and with the number of international visitors that we get for the start of the race, it’s a perfect fit.”
Yukon Wild members offer year-round adventures, from single to multi-day, including popular winter activities such as dog sledding and aurora viewing.
"The Yukon Quest is an iconic event and a big attraction for our member’s guests,” said Kalin Pallett, Chair of Yukon Wild. “Being able to offer them access to the mushers to mingle, ask questions, and get autographs, provides a real behind-the-scenes unique experience. It makes Start Day, and for those who come to follow part of the race, that much more exciting. This is a great fit for us and we are happy to support the event.”
