Musher Question & Answer
How many years have you been running dogs?
Tell us about your dogs?
Well, I'm not running my own dogs. But Alan Eischens finished the Iditarod already more than once with all dogs in harness! I think that's pretty impressive and I can't wait to jump on a sled behind that team.
How did you get started running dogs?
Loving animals, snow and cold only leads to mushing.
What do you love most about running sled dogs?
Freedom. There is nowhere else you can experience such freedom.
Why did you enter the Yukon Quest? What are your goals for the race?
The Yukon Quest must be one of the biggest adventures a person can experience. I want to prove myself and mush a good-looking team to the finish line.
What music do you listen to on the trail?
How did your dogs get their names?/ How do you choose names?
Alan and Tanjala often ask friends, family and neighbors for ideas, or just end up naming them randomly.
