The first I heard about the Yukon was from Jack London books. Second was about the Yukon Quest, what a great race, in a great country, with great dogs and some really great volunteers and mushers.

The Yukon Quest is a volunteer effort from beginning to end. This epic 1,000 mile international sled dog race would never have been possible without the volunteer efforts of thousands of dedicated individuals all of whom have lent a hand ... and sometimes much more - over the last 25 years.
