I wanted to highlight the spirit of the Yukon Quest. Even though the race didn’t take place last year, the dogs are still here, present across the mountains.
The race is part of the Yukon, through the grandeur of its landscapes.

I wanted the focal point of the poster to be the bond between a person and their dog. Major highlights of the Yukon Quest are featured through the dogsled, Canadian patches on the woman’s jacket, and landscape. But I also wanted to highlight the people who love the sport from the sidelines. Fans that never have the opportunity to run a team themselves are essential to carrying on the spirit and tradition of the Yukon Quest. I wanted both mushers and spectators to feel themselves represented in this poster, while keeping the love of dogs front and center.

My poster celebrates the connection at the heart of the Yukon Quest — between musher and dogs, the trail, and the people who gather along it. The outstretched hands represent the encouragement and support that follow a team through the Yukon, while the musher reaching back turns that support into a shared moment rather than simply a race. Yukon Quest is not only a race – it is community.

I wanted this painting to capture the feeling of being out in the northern wilderness with a team of dogs: the vastness, the cold, the silence, and the sense of adventure. I wanted the viewer to feel part of the story, almost as if they were standing among the dogs themselves. That world has fascinated me since I first read The Call of the Wild as a child growing up in France. I later worked as a sled dog handler and guide in AK and NW Canada, and after 15 years as a professional artist, I now live in Alaska and have chosen to dedicate my work to the world of sled dogs and the North.

“Sun Dogs”–This artwork was inspired by a run with my dogs last winter. The sun was setting on the Yukon River as we were returning to Dawson, and it made for these amazing sun dogs. It was just one of those magical moments on the trail with the dogs.

I’ve been excited to try making a poster for the race since a family member introduced me to it in 2025! The map of the race route helped inspire the design for the poster. I wanted to include an image of the route that showed the two race lengths while also including the northern lights for a pop of colour. The map of the race looks like a constellation in the sky, with one dog staring off in that direction and the other howling in anticipation for race day. Looking forward to the 2027 race!

In this poster, I wanted to represent a return to our roots. The crystal ball takes us back in time, like a window into the past. The parchment-inspired colors reinforce this timeless feeling, giving the design an old-fashioned, warm, and authentic atmosphere.

In this design, I wanted to put the Alaskan dog front and center, since the dog is at the heart of this adventure. His expression conveys the joy and excitement he feels while doing what he loves.
The Yukon flag is placed in the background to represent the location and identity of the race. I also divided the musher between night and day to symbolize the endurance and reality of a race that continues without interruption, day and night.

In this design, I wanted to highlight the musher’s solitude as he faces harsh winter conditions and the power of nature. I chose cold colors inspired by ice and winter to emphasize the feeling of cold and isolation.
The musher’s hood blends into the mountains, symbolizing his deep connection with nature. To me, this represents a musher who doesn’t simply travel through this environment — he is part of it. It is a way of life that he loves and has chosen, despite the difficult conditions.

I wanted to showcase some of the faces of the Yukon Quest, but I’m an amateur and can’t draw faces. So, I referenced pictures of some very happy dogs, clearly doing what they love. I am working through watercolors while healing from PTSD related to my work as a first responder and enjoyed being challenged to work on this piece. I’m still learning so it’s a bit homey, but thanks for considering it anyway. At least it’s clearly not AI!

She knows the quest has been on my race list for the last 5 years and to come up this year is super exciting!

I was inspired by the old patches that my friends collect from old races. The bold graphics that seem to stand the test of time. I thought it was appropriate to bring a bit of the old back to the Quest, to honor its history and legacy. Super stoked to the crew getting this back up on its feet, I wish you all the best in your trail ahead.
