How did you get started running dogs?
Trained bite work dogs growing up which led to an interest in working with problem dogs. That ended up introducing me to Chamie, my pet Malamute. The first ten feet of sledding had me hooked.
What do you love most about dog sledding?
The bond that gets built
Please share any interesting stories or facts about your dogs that will be running in the 2024 race:
Momma Mako and Wolfman Grotto, my two lead dogs, love this trail and after spending the summer in Dawson they are excited to visit everyone!
Are you a member of any other organizations in sled dog sports?
Why did you enter the 2024 Yukon Quest and what are your goals for the race?
It’s a great race. The Braeburn Lodge is open late and it’s my favorite way to get to Dawson.
Do you listen to music on the trail? If so, what types?
Mountain Head, Johnny Cash, Wu Tang Clan, Lead Belly, and everything in betweeen
How did your dogs get their names?
Themes, then they earn full names/nicknames
Share a quick story about one of your indispensable handlers:
They are all dispensable! Just kidding! My childhood best buddy has been a major part of the team for four years.
