2020 Start & Draw Banquet

The official Start & Draw Banquet for the 37th running of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race was held this evening in Fairbanks, Alaska. Mushers, dog handlers, race officials, dignitaries, volunteers and fans gathered at the Westmark Hotel in downtown Fairbanks to take in awards, prizes, sponsor recognition, and the drawing of the start order.

Quest veteran Richie Beattie of Two Rivers, Alaska will be the first musher out of the chute, drawing bib #1 from the official Start Draw bunny boot. Last year’s champion, Brent Sass, will bring up the rear of the pack, drawing bib #15.

The Yukon Quest starts Saturday, February 1st at 11am from the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center at 11am AK time.
