Air North, Yukon’s Airline returns as QuestFest Sponsor and the Official Airline of the Yukon Quest

Tuesday, January 2, 2018

Fans of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race will have plenty to see and do while waiting for mushers to cross the finish line, thanks to Air North, Yukon’s Airline.

A longtime supporter of the Yukon Quest, Air North is returning as the Official QuestFest sponsor for the sixth year in a row, making it possible for the race to hold this week-long event for fans to enjoy. Taking place during finish week in Whitehorse at Shipyards Park, QuestFest is filled with all things surrounding mushing, including presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on fun. It also provides a great opportunity for fans to purchase merchandise as they wait for mushers to finish their 1,000-mile race. Air North tops all of this off with their famous cookies and hot chocolate.

As the Official Airline - Yukon, Air North supports the transport of Yukon Quest volunteers, race vets, judges, and other race personnel across their 11-destination national network, with major efforts between Whitehorse and Dawson during the race. These logistics would be difficult to undertake if not for the sponsorship from Air North. Additionally, the airline provides travel certificates to be used during auctions and raffles to assist in the race’s fundraising efforts.

“Community is incredibly important to the Yukon Quest and with Air North, Yukon’s Airline on board to make QuestFest happen during finish week, the community can keep the excitement alive which has been built up along the trail since Fairbanks,” states Natalie Haltrich, Executive Director – Yukon. “Their in-kind support is equally important to the logistics of this race. Being Yukon’s airline, Air North makes so much possible for us. We’re very happy to recognize them as the Official Airline in Yukon for the 2018 race.”

“The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race wholly embodies the persevering spirit of the North,” says Debra Ryan, Manager, Strategic Alliances & Planning at Air North, Yukon’s Airline. “We are pleased to continue supporting this great sled dog race and wish all competitors a safe, successful journey.”
