How did you get started running dogs?

I trained bite work dogs growing up, which led me to an interest in working with problem dogs. This is how I was introduced to to Charlie, my pet malamute. The first 10 feet had me hooked!

How did your dogs get their names?/ How do you choose names?

Themes, then they earn full name and nickname.

Why did you enter the Yukon Quest? What are your goals for the race?

It's a great race, the Braeburn Lodge stays open till late and it's my favorite way to get to Dawson.

What do you love most about running sled dogs?

The bond that gets built with the dogs.

Tell us about your dogs, particularly some stories or facts about dogs running this year's race

Momma Mako and Wolfman Grotto are my two lead dogs that love this trail. After spending the summer in Dawson they will be excited to see everyone again.

What music do you listen to on the trail?

Mountain Head, Johnny Cash, Wu Tang Clan, Lead Belly and everything in between.

They are all dispensable! Just Kidding!! My childhood best buddy has been a major part of the team for the past four years.
