Doug Grilliot - Race Marshal

Doug Grilliot of Willow, Alaska returns as Race Marshal for the 2022 Yukon Quest races. This will be Grilliot’s 11th year of officiating Yukon Quest events and he looks forward to working with the mushers and all of the volunteers on the four races the organization is sponsoring. A veteran of the Yukon Quest and Iditarod, Grilliot brings a great deal of experience to the organization both as a former musher combined with years of experience with almost every aspect of the Yukon Quest organization.

“It is a privilege to be invited to Marshal the Yukon Quest races of 2022. Working with the mushers, veterinarians, staff and fans is always an enjoyable challenge and I’m confident the organization will put on a great 2022 race season”

Catherine Pinard - Race Judge

Catherine is a wildlife biologist from Montreal.  Running dogs was her dream since the first time she heard about it when she was 10. Shortly after she moved to the Yukon in 1999, she got introduced to the sport.  She ran dogs from 1999 to 2007, and raced the Quest in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007. She retired from dog racing to explore the world, often on her bicycle. She now lives in Whitehorse, works for the Yukon Government and is happy to be part of the mushing community again, with a completely different role!

Sebastian Schnuelle - Race Judge

Sebastian Schnuelle has multiple years of experience as a judge with the Yukon Quest and Iditarod. A past Yukon Quest champion, he has finished the Quest 6 times and is very well known for his popular reports from the trail. Sebastian is a current Yukon Quest board member in the Yukon and is the chair of the Yukon Quest Rules Committee.
