The Yukon Quest is a volunteer effort from beginning to end. This epic International Sled Dog Race would never have been possible without the volunteer efforts of thousands of dedicated individuals all of whom have lent a hand ... and sometimes much more. Volunteers are a vital support to race operations, office administration and fundraising. The Yukon Quest welcomes volunteers from all over Alaska, the Yukon and around the world. Join our incredible volunteer team and become part of the Yukon Quest!
We are very excited and looking forward to seeing you in Whitehorse, Yukon in 2022. Volunteer and Visitor Planning documents provide an overview of the Yukon Quest, as well as volunteer information for the next Race. In these documents, you will find maps, checkpoint descriptions, tips on clothing and weather, travel industry details, etc. If you still have questions or concerns after reading these documents, please contact either Yukon Quest office.
Special 2022 Volunteer Information
Thank you so much for being interested in volunteering for the Yukon Quest International Association (Canada). In 2022, the Yukon Quest will be hosting a 300-mile race that ends in Pelly Crossing and a 100-mile race, which will finish in Braeburn. Both races are starting at Shipyards Park in Whitehorse on February 19th, 2022, with the YQ300 starting at 3 pm and the YQ100 starting at 4 pm.
As some of you may know, the Yukon Government has implemented COVID rules for us to follow. Yukon Government is basing their new regulations on the BC model which, to our understanding from their annoucement, requires all persons to be double vaccinated to attend public events and recreation activities with over 50 people, indoors and outdoors. This may or may not change as we get closer to our race but please be aware of the territorial regulations, before traveling from outside of the Yukon.
The events that you will be attending will have over 50 people, including mushers vets, judges, media, volunteers & fans etc. You will need to be double vaccinated to volunteer, proof will be required.
If you are interested in volunteering at the Yukon races (YQ100 & YQ300), please fill out Volunteer Sign-up Form.
If you are interested in volunteering at the Alaska races (YQ550 & YQ200), please contact [email protected].
To the Volunteers who have made the Yukon Quest an iconic and epic race event, a huge heartfelt Thank You!!
