This morning at 9am PST veteran musher Torsten Kohnert (bib #2) from Sweden scratched from the race in Dawson City, Yukon. He made the decision for the health and well-being of his team, stating he felt the dogs needed to recover due to the cold weather.

Last evening at 6:40pm PST, rookie Severin Cathry (bib #20) from Andermatt, Switzerland, activated the SOS button on his race-tracking device approximately 45 miles outside of Eagle, Alaska, heading towards Dawson City.

This morning Race Marshal Doug Harris stated that, Boppy, a dog on Hugh Neff’s team has expired. Head Veterinarian Dr. Cristina Hansen said a necropsy will be conducted.
