How did your kennel get its name?
I have allways had the mindset of improving year after year. This is not only about competitiveness but also kennel management, dog care, training and the relationship I have with my team.
How did you get started running dogs?
Growing up in Yellowknife I was exposed to sled dogs at a young age. We then purchased siberians as pets that were coaxed into pulling a sled:)
What do you love most about running dogs?
The lifestyle and how the world slows down when your on the runners.
Please share with us some stories or facts about your dogs that will be running in the 2025 YQ450.
My main leader has one eye but doesn't show it! He is a direct descendant of my all time best leader Cyclone. I expect Juniper to impress me again this winter.

How did your dogs get their names/How do you choose names?
Theme litters for my pups or if the dog is from a different kennel I change its name slightly such as changing Scrat to Snap.
Share a quick story about one of your indispensable Handlers.
Louve Tweddell will be my handler this year. She also runs the Pink Team as part of Step Up Kennels and we take turns handling for each other.
Tell us about your favorite experience with a volunteer on the trail.
Too many experiences too pick one..... especially when thinking back to the YQ 1000 in 2018 and 2019. They truly are life savers, bringing you out of a sleep deprived stuper!
