How did your kennel get its name?
Together with my wife Blair Braverman and our 25 Alaskan Huskies, we are BraverMountain Mushing.
How did you get started running dogs?
I was dating a musher, and it snowed.
What do you love most about running dogs?
Being out in the woods with my family and our canine best friends.
Please share with us some stories or facts about your dogs that will be running in the 2025 YQ450.
We have a whole litter of dogs who was born while we were on the road. They'll be close to "home," where we stopped at Montana Services in Carcross so that our dog Willow could have her pups. It was a great place to pull off for a day and have access to water, etc. A bit further down the road, one of the pups needed some nursing. So we also have memories of the TLC our pup got from the folks who allowed us to sit inside at Johnson's Crossing and bottlefeed her. I believe they even brought us pie. Yukon is a special place and we absolutely love mushing here.
Are you a member of any other organizations involved in sled dog sports?
No.
Why did you enter the 2025 YQ450 and what are your goals for the race?
We thought YQ175 would be a nice opportunity for our team to do some camping and training as we prepare for the Iditarod race. Our plan is to go easy and to focus on the young ones who haven't yet been in a race with short runs and good camps.
What music do you listen to on the trail?
