Emily is a Veterinary Technician that will be assisting our Head Vet, Dr. Markus Barth, along the trail. They will primarily be based throughout the YQ450. This is Emily’s first go around with our races, and we are excited to have a new member joining us on our epic adventure in February.

In her own words:

My name is Emily and I am a registered veterinary technician in Alberta, Canada. I grew up in British Columbia and after graduation, lived as an exchange student in The Netherlands for a year after highschool (2011).

I graduated Tech School in 2014 and started working in general practice. In 2017, I moved to New Brunswick, Canada, and worked in Emergency Medicine, eventually moving back to Grande Prairie, Alberta, in 2019.

I have hoped to join the vet team of the Yukon Quest for almost 10 years since starting my veterinary medicine career and am so excited to be finally a part of it this year!
